Andrea Rubio

MFT Trainee

I’m a marriage and family therapy trainee currently pursuing my master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy at California State University, Dominguez Hills. I approach my work with warmth and empathy, with a deep commitment to understanding your unique experiences. Regardless of what brings you to therapy, my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable learning about yourself.

Before entering the therapy field, most of my experience consisted of working with young children, adolescents, and their families. I quickly developed a passion for working with youth, as their natural curiosity and immense creativity are truly inspiring. Through working with their parents, I also learned that meaningful, lasting change often happens when the entire family is involved.

I’m often curious about exploring the ways different experiences, values, and identities can coexist, informed by my experience of navigating an American individualistic culture while being rooted in a Mexican collectivist family. My approach to therapy is collaborative, personal, and grounded in curiosity. I love working together to create a therapeutic approach that is tailored to your unique needs. I look forward to getting to know you and creating a space where you feel comfortable exploring, growing, and discovering more about yourself.
