Christina Fong
PCC Trainee
I am currently pursuing my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Concordia University’s Townsend Institute and am passionate about supporting individuals as they navigate identity, relationships, trauma, and emotional wellbeing. As someone raised within both Asian American and Christian cultural contexts, I understand how bicultural experiences, family expectations, faith, and identity can shape a person’s sense of self and relationships. I especially hope to support clients from multicultural and bicultural backgrounds who may feel caught between different cultural values while seeking healing, belonging, and authenticity.
Before entering the counseling field, I spent over a decade working in food science and nutrition, which has strengthened my understanding of holistic wellness and the connection between physical and emotional health. This background has shaped my interest in integrating nutrition and mental health, particularly in supporting individuals struggling with eating-related concerns and body image issues. I have also written and published a trilogy of young adult coming-of-age novels exploring themes of identity and self-discovery. Writing has deepened my appreciation for personal stories and the ways people make meaning from relationships, pain, and resilience, which continues to influence the empathy and curiosity I bring into counseling.
My counseling approach is trauma-informed, relational, and grounded in compassion, collaboration, and grace. My Christian faith informs the way I understand healing and human worth. Through my own personal growth and therapy journey, I came to understand that our value is not rooted in performance, but in being deeply loved by God. I hope to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and cared for as they move toward healing of the mind, body, and spirit.
