D’Anthony Thomas
PCC Trainee
I am currently pursuing my degree in Counseling Psychology and training as an PCC, with a strong foundation in both clinical work and lived experience. Before stepping into the world of therapy, I worked as an ABA therapist, supporting individuals with behavioral challenges and learning to meet people where they are with patience, structure, and compassion. Originally from Chicago, I bring with me the grit, resilience, and the community-centered values that shaped me. As a former college athlete and current basketball player, I understand the pressure of performance, identity struggles, and the mental toll that expectations—internal and external—can take, especially for men and young people navigating life transitions.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in both person-centered care and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I believe healing starts with feeling seen and understood, and from there, we work collaboratively to reshape unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior. I am especially passionate about creating a safe, affirming space for Black men and boys, but truly anyone who may feel they are walking through life alone. Representation matters. As a Black male therapist, I know how important it is to have someone who not only listens but gets it. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, identity, self-worth, or just figuring out who you are in a world that often asks you to be someone else—I’m here for that. My goal is to walk with you through discomfort, help you tap into your own strength, and remind you that asking for help is a courageous, powerful act.
Thank you for choosing me and I look forward to hearing from you soon and God bless.
