Sierra Martin
MFT Trainee
Hi, I’m Sierra! I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee in the final year of my master’s program at Biola University. I believe we are created for connection—with others and with ourselves. One of my favorite parts of becoming a therapist is getting to hear people’s stories and walk alongside them through the ups and downs of life. I hope to create a space where clients feel safe being their authentic selves, knowing they will be met with warmth and compassion. My desire to work in mental health began in high school and continued through my studies at California State University, Long Beach, where I earned my B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Child Development and Family Studies. Through my eight years of experience caring for children and supporting families, along with my work as a preschool teacher and over 10 years of volunteering in children’s ministry, I have developed a deep appreciation for relationships and the importance of feeling seen, heard, and understood.
I have also completed Level I training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and am a Prepare/Enrich facilitator, which has deepened my understanding of relationships, communication, and the importance of connection. My faith in Christ is a meaningful part of who I am and shapes the way I approach others with compassion, grace, and curiosity. I believe every person has a story worth hearing and deserves to be met with kindness and understanding. It would be a privilege to hear your story and walk alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges, experience growth, and move toward healing and deeper connection.
